Popovic rises to second place among coaches with the most wins, wants three more for first place

Greg Popovich added another major medal to his rich career when he rose to 2nd place in the list of all-time winning coaches in NBA history. It takes three more to climb to first place.

Greg Popovic is three “red cards” away from (re)writing history. Three wins now separate him from No. 1 on the list of all-time winning coaches in NBA history, after Spurs’ win over the Thunder (114-106) he reached a career 1,333 and climbed to No. 2 , behind Lenny Wilkins (1,332 wins).

First on the list, Don Nelson, ended his glorious career on the bench with 1,335 wins, with the Spurs manager now very close to breaking another record.

It is recalled that during the season, Popovic became the first coach in NBA history with 2,000 games on the same team’s bench.
