NBA
The ten remaining All-Star Games in history
2020: For Cobby and Gianna
By far the best All Star Game in history took place in Chicago on February 16, 2020. But never before has joy and sorrow been more ingrained in the souls of all league fans. The reason is clear: the wounds in everyone’s soul from the deaths of Coby Bryant and his daughter Gianna in a helicopter crash a few weeks earlier had stigmatized the institution.
The NBA honored Cobby and Gianna in every possible and unlikely way. With the format changed – and the teams split into Team Giannis and Team LeBron – Giannis Antitokoumbo’s team wore jersey #24 (Kobe’s number) and LeBron’s jersey wore jersey #2 (Gianna’s jersey number). And then the players entered the parquet. And they provided a legendary match, with Team LeBron taking the win 157-155 and Kwai Leonard being named MVP after finishing the match with 30 points.
2021: John in the role of MVP
On March 7, 2021, John Antitokunbo would add another stepping stone to a great career at State Farm Arena in Atlanta just months before winning the championship. After flirting with the All Star Game’s MVP award in his previous appearances, Giannis finally managed to add this award to his collection in 2021.
As a member of “Team Durant,” “Greek Freak” topped his team’s win with the “satisfying” 170-150 against Team LeBron and finished the match with 35 points with 16/16 shots (3/3 three points). ), 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 interception in 19 minutes of participation! The MVP award went to him.
