Cities out for weeks, Timberwolves season in jeopardy

In 2023, Karl-Anthony Towns will return to the pitch after suffering a calf injury.

The Timberwolves were dealt a major blow when they were told they would miss Karl-Anthony Towns for four to six weeks with a right calf injury. On the positive side, however, his Achilles tendon was not damaged, meaning he was lucky in his misfortune.

Towns is averaging 20.8 points (up from 24.6 last year), 8.2 rebounds (up from 9.8 last year), 5.3 assists, one steal and just under a block per 33.8 minutes this year year, with the Timberwolves now holding the record 10-11 with Rudy Gober keeping them 10th in the west. With the 9-10 Mavericks, 8-13 Thunder and 7-12 Lakers chasing them, Towns’ absence for 15-20 games could play a major role in how their year goes.
