Nike terminates Irving’s contract
American company Nike has officially cut off cooperation with NBA and Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving due to the anti-Semitic movie scandal.
Recall that the Nets quarterback posted a link to the anti-Semitism documentary “From Jews to Blacks: Awaken Black America” on the social network. The player later deleted the post and apologized, but had to miss eight matches due to his suspension.
A month ago, the company management announced that it suspended cooperation with the basketball player.
“At Nike, we believe there is no room for hate in the world and we condemn anti-Semitism in any form. We are deeply disappointed with this whole situation and how it is affecting those around us,” it said.
Irving earned 11 million a year thanks to his collaboration with Nike.
