World Cup 2023: Ponceco travels to Orlando to convince Banchero to play for Italy
Italy coach Gianmarco Posseco will travel to the United States, accompanied by members of the basketball federation, to meet with the promising Paolo Banchero.
Italy is one of the 17 countries that have already secured their place at the 2023 World Cup. Our neighboring country wants to be extra competitive at the upcoming event and will make every effort to include NBA draft No. 1 Paolo Bankero in its potential.
National coach Gianmarco Poceco and a delegation from the Italian Basketball Association will travel to Orlando to follow the Magic game against the Milwaukee Bucks (June 12, 2:00 a.m., COSMOTE SPORT 4 and LIVE from Sportish) and then with the 20-year-old to talk -old forward to convince him to play for the Squadra Azura.
On the fringes of their visit to the US, Ponceco and members of the Italian federation are also expected to meet Simone Fontecchio, who had a leading role at EuroBasket 2022 and is now competing across the Atlantic with the Utah Jazz.
