The nba not only does it reward collective effort/talent with a championship ring, it also highlights the best individuals of the season. These awards, which are what forge legends, will now have even more value after the league is revealed new trophies.
League Commissioner Adam Silver unveiled the new six trophies: the Michael Jordan for the MVP, the Jerry West for Clutch Player of the Year, o Hakeem Olajuwon Defender of the Year, withering chamberlain for Rookie of the Year, the John Havlitek for the Sixth Man and the George Mikan for the most improved player.
“Our new collection of trophies honors some of the greatest and most impactful players in NBA history. As we recognize the best players in the league each season, we also honor the legends who embody these important players. awards,” Silver pointed out.

Michael Jordan Trophy
From now on, the MVP of the championship will receive the Trophy Michael Jordan, named after the NBA legend. During his career, Jordan was named MVP five times. The Hall of Famer has also won six NBA championships, six NBA Finals MVP awards, 11 All-NBA team selections, 14 NBA All-Star selections and more.
The trophy has a few nods to the former Chicago Bulls: it measures 23.6 inches and weighs 23.6 pounds, references to his jersey (23) and titles (6). Additionally, the five-sided base refers to their MVPs, and the angle of that, 15 degrees, is for the number of years in the league.

Jerry West Trophy
At the end of the 2022-2023 season, not only will it Jerry West Trophy but also the Clutch Player of the Year award. Voted on by a media committee based on nominations from NBA coaches, the award will honor the player who best assists his teammates in crucial moments.
Legendary Los Angeles Lakers broadcaster Chick Hearn gave West his nickname “Mr. Clutz” for his amazing shots at the end of even games. West is an NBA champion, 14-time NBA All-Star, NBA Finals MVP and 12-time All-NBA team selection.

Trophy Hakeem Olajuwon
Defensive dominance helped define his career Hakeem Olajuwon headed for the Hall of Fame. Olajuwon, a two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and nine-time All-NBA All-Defensive Team selection, is the league’s all-time leader in blocked shots and ranks ninth in steals. He was also a two-time NBA champion, 12-time NBA All-Star, league MVP, two-time NBA Finals MVP and a 12-time All-NBA team selection.

Trophy withering chamberlain
His 1959-60 season withering chamberlain is unmatched for an NBA rookie. Chamberlain averaged 37.6 points and 27.0 rebounds in 46.4 minutes per game with the Philadelphia Warriors and won the Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player awards. His career includes two NBA championships, 13 NBA All-Star selections, four league MVPs, 10 All-NBA team selections and one NBA Finals MVP.

His career includes eight NBA championships, 13 NBA All-Star selections, 11 All-NBA team selections, one NBA Finals MVP and eight NBA All-Defensive Team selections.
