Lillard would pick Giannis Antetokounmpo for an NBA championship
If Damien Lillard could pick one player from across the NBA to try and win the championship, it would be Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Damien Lillard has been a stalwart of the Portland Trail Blazers since his debut in the NBA in 2012. For a decade, all of the California Guard’s attempts at a championship have fallen on deaf ears, and it’s a topic reporters often question him about.
Speaking to GQ Sports, Lillard was asked to pick a player he thinks would help him win the trophy and without a second thought he named Giannis Antetokounmpo. “I would choose Giannis because he’s dominant. He’ll go in the basket. He’s a good playmaker, he’s a good defender, he can disrupt opponents and in general his qualities complement mine. He would offer something I don’t can and.” vice versa (S. I would offer something he can’t)”he said to justify his choice.
