Tatum knocks out LeBron-Davis and Celtics go insane overtime derby
The Lakers put on a tremendous effort, coming back from -20 (81-61) midway through the third period, but with a Tatum breaking the counters and scoring 41 points, the Celtics left Los Engel’s win (122-118).
The most traditional rivalry in the NBA is that between the Lakers and the Celtics. So every new game they play carries a piece of it. How much more a game that went into overtime and was narrowly decided.
That’s how the Celtics’ 122-118 got into Lake People headquarters. A result that stopped the bleeding of back-to-back losses kept them ahead of the second-seeded Bucks in the Eastern Conference.
It’s true that the Lakers put in an incredible effort to turn the match around. They were down by double figures in the first half and found themselves down -20 (81-61) midway through the third period before rallying to claim the regular-season win with a stunning run that saw them further 106 -93 (45) lead -12)!
Despite the shock, the Celtics responded methodically, surviving first with an Anthony Davis miss and then a Tatum shot with 16.6 minutes remaining. After the tie, they managed to capitalize on the momentum in overtime and celebrate a grueling win that was secured with a very big shot from Jaylen Brown (122-114). At the same time, Russell Westbrook was missing his own open shots and the Lakers fell to 11-16
