It’s transfer season in the NBA. Thursday, December 15 more than 70 players who signed contracts in the past out of season became eligible for negotiation. Talks between the teams actually started a long time ago, but it’s now that it really makes more sense to think a business could be made.
But it is also worth noting that the positions of East and West Conference they are still very volatile at this point. This can lead to franchises being more conservative in making their decisions early on, so it’s more likely that everything will be resolved in deadline.

Warriors sign Jakob Poeltl
It was a difficult start for the reigning champions. Despite Stephen Curry’s brilliance, the Warriors can’t seem to find consistency and are currently stuck in the middle of the play-in race.
Golden State saw a dramatic drop in defensive efficiency, going from the second-best ratio last season (106.6) to the 20th-best this season (112.6). If they could get hold of Poeltl, he could give the best version of himself and significantly improve the reality of Californians.
At 2.15m tall, the Austrian midfielder would give the Warriors an inside presence that they clearly lack. He’s also an underutilized player on offense and one of the best rim protectors in the league. He was among the leaders in the league screen help last season, and he wasn’t playing shooters like Curry, Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole exactly.
Adding Poeltl would mean losing young players and/or future draft picks, but Golden State could negotiate a reasonable deal with San Antonio because the European could leave the Spurs in free agency for next to nothing.

John Collins, the Mavericks’ solution?
Luka Doncic is playing at the best level of his career, and yet lthe Mavericks are stuck in mediocrity. Dallas has only won one (!) game all season in which the Slovenian wasn’t their top scorer, which translates into a simple message: we need to improve the team.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Texans could be a potential landing spot for John Collins, a player whose name has been in trade rumors for the past three seasons.
Collins saw his role in Atlanta diminish dramatically, averaging 12.3 points on just 9.7 field goalsboth numbers are his lowest marks since his rookie season.
At just 25 years old, the outside line could be an interesting piece to join Doncic as a versatile and mobile scorer who shot 37.6% from the outside last season. There’s no reason to think Dallas couldn’t be the change of scenery Collins needs to get back on track.
The tough part would be matching the salaries for a trade as the Hawks youngster is in the second year of a five-year, $125 million contract he signed with the Hawks through 2021. That means the Mavs would have to be willing to part ways . guys like Tim Hardaway Jr., Davis Bertans, Dorian Finney-Smith, Dwight Powell or Reggie Bullock to seal a deal.
As his roster stands, it seems like the trade would be worth the risk.

Bojan Bogdanovic also ends up in Dallas
Let’s stay in Dallas for a second.
I also like the idea of Collins going to the Mavericks, but I’m more in favor of putting Bogdanovic next to Doncic, who, as Kyle mentioned, could use some help.
Ideally, the Mavs would pair the Slovenian with a second baseman his age, but the Croatian checks some important boxes. In addition to being a proven shooter (39.4% career 3-point range), he is quite capable of attacking the rim.
The Mavericks don’t have many of those players right now. There’s a lot of Doncic, a little Spencer Dinwiddie and a little Christian Wood, but when the Slovenian is off the pitch, his attack collapses.

There’s a good chance the Pistons won’t get a call-up on Bogdanovic this season, but if they do, the Mavs should give it a try.

The Bucks add Jae Crowder to go to the ring
The soap opera between Crowder and the Suns has to end at some point, right?
In September, it was revealed that the veteran and the franchise had mutually agreed that he should not appear in the field training because he was waiting for a transfer. It’s been almost three months, Phoenix is in trouble and Crowder is still looking for his next destination.
The Experienced 3&D has been linked with the Bucks for some time now and his name has been closely linked to Milwaukee in various rumors. Perhaps the Suns’ injury woes and poor timing will give them a sense of urgency to close the deal.
For Milwaukee, Crowder completes the puzzle in their quest to return to title contention. It’s no secret that 2021 PJ Tucker played an integral role in winning the ring, but his departure has left a huge void that has yet to be filled.
Crowder is by no means the same player, but he fills some roles.
The veteran is 32 years old, 1.98 meters tall, has a strong body and has played a key role in his teams for the last three seasons thanks to his tough defense and 36% success in triads.
