More adversity has been added to his up and down season Los Angeles Lakers. Anthony Davis, who had returned to his best form this season, suffered a setback when he left the team in a win over the Denver Nuggets on Dec. 16 with a foot injury. Davis finished the game with 10 points and four rebounds in 17 minutes.

This season, Davis has lived up to his superstar reputation, with an average 28.1 points, 12.4 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per gamewhile making 59.3% of his fields.

Anthony Davis’ injury: what he has and what is known

Davis left the Lakers vs. the Nuggets on December 16 with what was billed as a right leg injury. According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN, Davis “experiencing leg discomfort” but “There is hope” that the injury is not serious.

Davis suffered the injury in the first quarter while scoring on Nikola Jokic in the post. Davis was left limping after hitting a reverse layup. Although he remained in the game until halftime, Davis was still struggling and visibly bothered by the strain. He was blocked early in the third quarter.

How long will Anthony Davis be out? The Los Angeles Lakers schedule

On Sunday, Sams Harania of The Athletic announced that he was expecting Davis will miss at least a month of action with his right leg injury.

Harania added that Lakers ‘prepare for indefinite absence’which means nothing is set on the schedule for the former New Orleans Pelicans player.

Counting a month from December 16th (when they suffered the injury) that would mean that Davis will miss at least 16 games for Los Angeles – including his Christmas Day game against the Dallas Mavericks.
