Towns won the three-point contest with a record point in the final
The great Carl-Anthony Towns of the Wolves won the three-point contest and even set a record in the history of the finals with 29 points.
Carl-Anthony Towns is the NBA’s top shooter for one night. The Wolves star took first place in the three-point contest, defeating standouts Trey Young (Hawks) and Luke Kenard (Clippers) in the final.
Towns scored 22 points in the first round and then advanced to the finals with 29 points (a record in the institution’s history in the finals of the three-point contest). Young and Kenard struggled in the final, but both stuck to the – outstanding performance – of 26 points.
Kenard had the best performance in the first round with 28 points, followed by Young and Towns with 22 points while Patti Mills was eliminated from the finals in the last minute with 21 points. Jacques Lavigne and Desmond Bain were disappointed.
In the final, Towns started first and set the bar (very) high, with Young and Kenard falling short of the 26-point record.
