Durant cut, Irving sewed, and the Nets eluded Detroit (121-124), with their duo scoring 81 points against the struggling Pistons.
The Nets superstars were in high spirits. Kevin Durant with 43 points (11/17 2-pointers, 3/5 3-pointers, 12/13 shots) and Kyrie Irving with 38 (8/13 2-pointers, 5/10 3-pointers, 7/8 shots) were the ones who hurt them the most Pistons and signed the Brooklyn team’s win (121-124). In fact, KD scored 26 points in the third period, where the visitors erased a 17-point difference Detroit built up in the first half (71-54).
Bogdan Bogdanovic, who also led the Pistons with 26 points, put his team within striking distance with a three-pointer 40″ before the final (119-120), but the Nets duo cleared the game off their line.
