NBA umpire twists ankle while stepping on Jordan Poole’s foot

Crazy – and extremely rare – scene in the Knicks vs. Warriors game after one of the three umpires severely twisted his right ankle while stepping on the foot of Golden State’s Jordan Poole.

Referees — especially those in the NBA — are going viral for a variety of reasons. However, it’s hard for someone to go viral like Scott Wall, one of the three umpires for the Knicks’ game against the Warriors in New York (a 132-94 win for the New Yorkers).

The veteran referee was unlucky early in the game after, during an unsuspecting period, he badly ‘sprained’ his right ankle by kicking Jordan Poole’s foot when the Warriors guard tried to change direction abruptly.

Wall first fell to the ground and then began limping before heading to the locker room. However, it turned out to be his heart when he eventually returned to the game at some point.
