Overjoyed, McCollum led the Spurs by 40 points
CJ McCollum had fun against the Spurs, stopping at 40 points to lead the Pelicans – minus Williamson, Ingram and Nance – to a 126-117 win.
The Pelicans took on the Spurs without Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram and Larry Nance. But they had CJ McCollum and that was enough to go 126-117 with the Spurs and even go +23 at one point.
McCollum was unstoppable, finishing the game with 40 points on 7/14 3-pointers. He even scored 19 of those in the fourth period as Spurs tried to turn the game around and clean up the game.
Jonas Valanciunas with 16 points and 10 rebounds trailed McCollum in performance with Trey Murphy adding 15 points.
At the Spurs, who were without Keldon Johnson, Jeremy Sochan had 23 points and Tre Jones had 19 points.
