Doncic gets mad at Beverly and knocks out Great LeBron’s Lakers
With an unlikely 51-21 lead in the third quarter, the Mavericks turned a -11 deficit into a +19 deficit to beat the Lakers 124-115 in the second game of the NBA Christmas schedule.
They put on a great performance in the first half. With focus and consistency as long as LeBron James was on the pitch. However, in the third period, for some reason, the Lakers decided to “harass” Luka Doncic. And that decision left them beaten in Game 2 of the NBA schedule on Christmas night by Dallas (124-115).
The increasingly annoying Patrick Beverley opened the dialogue with the Slovenian, the Mavericks took a 51-21 lead in the third quarter and never looked back. They improved to 18-16 and continue to chase the West Top 6 for a direct playoff spot, standing 13-5 at home (where the statue of Dirk Nowitzki was unveiled) and still betting on the awesome Doncic (32pts , 9/16 shooting, 12/16 shooting, 9 rebounds, 9 assists, 2 steals in 39 minutes), who saw his opponents lock him in, struggled but found the motivation he needed and put on another show.
The Lakers, on the other hand, fell to 13-20, moving even further away from the top ten leading up to the play-in tournament. They’re 13th in the West and lucky because the Spurs and Rockets haven’t had the slightest goal this season. LeBron did everything he could, everything he could (38 points, 13/19 2-points, 12/12 shots, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 turnovers in 34:20), but nobody was in from there at least a tolerable condition. Schroeder, Beverley, Walker, Bryant are all too mediocre to support him and Anthony Davis’ absence cannot even be covered by one percent.
