The extension of the contract which Lebron James that was signed last August calmed the rumors about his possible course Los Angeles Lakers. The competitive drift of the Californian team along with the amazing level of a player of his age made a new outing for the biggest star of his generation to gain power. If we add to this some impressive statements of the player in All-Star 2022 about his desire to share a dressing room with his own childthe story was strong enough to stand.

The next December 30 LeBron will be 38 years old, an age at which most professionals reach a definite physical and technical decline, which is not the case for the Akron native. With nearly 1,400 games and less than 30 games away from becoming the all-time leading scorer, James continues at a very high level. Their average 27.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 6.6 assists are only equal to a Luka Doncic who are in the MVP conversation, except they both have a lifetime in the NBA.

However, the Lakers are sinking in the standings. Right now Californians have it same distance to finish last in the Western Conference than to get into Play-In positions. And what’s worse is that their most in-form player, Anthony Davies, will be out for at least another month.

In the midst of it all, LeBron was asked after the A 112-98 loss to the Miami Heat about how long he’s been in the NBA.

His words left more questions than answers:

“I don’t have a specific date, I know I’ll be as long as my mind stays on it, I can play at this level for a little while longer.” the Lakers star said. “It all depends on my head for my body will be well if my head is also well. I’ll make sure he’s taken care of physically and still working on him.”

“Well, I’m a winner and I want to win. I want to win and give myself a chance to succeed and fight for the championship. That’s always been my passion and goal since I came into the league at 18 out of Akron.”

From here, LeBron hinted that the situation with the Lakers is far from ideal and that he cannot achieve the collective goals he would like.

I know what it takes to get there [a la victoria]but once you get there and learn how to do it, Playing at this level is not in my DNA. It is no longer part of my DNA. we will see what will happen [en el futuro] and how fresh my mind is in the next two years.”

The words of the Lakers star are not accidental. At the end of this lesson you will have one up to two contract periodsbut 2024-2025 depends on your criteria since you have a player choice. If the situation in Los Angeles continues to be this bad, he could hit the market and look for a new project, just one season after Brony’s son is draft eligible.

No one has reached LeBron’s age while maintaining that competitive level and making an impact like he does on the court. The problem is, even that isn’t enough for the Lakers to get past the Play-In zone, and that’s something that will weigh on the Akron star’s ultimate legacy.

Will James decide to finish his career under the California sun or will he take his talents elsewhere in search of one last moment of glory?
