Domantas Sabonis has broken his thumb
Bad news for the Kings as Domantas Sabonis underwent tests which showed he suffered a broken right thumb. The Lithuanian will try to play injured.
The bad scenario has been confirmed for Domantas Sabonis and his injury. The Lithuania forward/center suffered a broken right thumb and a partial torn ligament, the Kings said.
Sabonis was listed as “doubtful” for the team’s next game (against the Nuggets) in hopes he can avoid surgery and play injured. However, it is clear that things are not looking good.
This season, the dynamic forward/center is averaging 17.9 points, 12.5 rebounds and 6.7 assists in 34 minutes of action while leading the NBA in double-doubles with 23. If he is sidelined, the Kings will be in a difficult position and potentially concede playing time to – until last year their main center – Rhyshon Holmes.
