The Celtics prevailed in the Durant-less Brooklyn Nets

Taking full advantage of Kevin Durant’s absence, the Celtics won away in Brooklyn (98-109) and widened their lead over the Nets even further.

The Celtics remain the best team in the NBA, at least based on their record (31-12) after beating Brooklyn (98-109) despite the absence of Jaylen Brown and Al Horford. Jayson Tatum was front and center, hitting a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Marcus Smart also had a double-double, adding 16 points and dishing out 10 assists.

For the Nets (27-14), who went on court without the injured Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving scored 24 points but only had 6/13 two-pointers and 3/11 three-pointers. TJ Warren followed with 20 points and Joe Harris with 18 points.
