Enes Kanter spoke to the “Mismatched” and referred to Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s decision to call him out for $500,000.

Turkey’s move to demand Enes Kanter for $500,000 was – a few days ago – the new episode in the former NBA player’s feud with Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The 30-year-old athlete spoke to SKAI’s “Mismatched” about what’s happened over the past few days and stressed that he is now in constant communication with the FBI to be informed about what he should be doing in his day-to-day life.

What he said in detail:

When I first heard about the proclamation I wasn’t shocked at all because I know that Recep Tayyip Erdogan is a brutal dictator and will do anything to silence me.

So yeah, I wasn’t shocked. He put my family in jail, he tortures so many innocent people in jail because they don’t think like him. I wasn’t shocked at all, now my life is in danger. There are so many, based on what the FBI is telling me, that are out to get me and want to hurt me.

People now know that if anything happens to me, Recep Tayyip Erdogan will be responsible. I hope Western leaders will see that.

I had a conversation with the FBI, they are concerned for my life. Now I’m protected by the FBI 24 hours a day. I was told not to leave my house or go anywhere for the next two weeks. So I’m stuck at home for now. The threats are real, so we’re doing everything we can to make sure I’m alive.

I posted some of these (the threatening messages), people can see them on my social media. But one said they hired a serial killer to kill me. In another one I uploaded today, he said that he is a supporter of Recep Tayyip Erdogan and that wherever he finds me he will cut off my head and burn my body. This is all very disturbing, full of hate and disgusting messages.

The reason I am releasing all these messages is so the world can see what Recep Tayyip Erdogan is.

Of course I’m scared, they’re threats against my life, it’s not funny. What I do know is that what I do is God’s work. I try to be the voice of all these innocent people out there. I believe in God. I will continue to speak about human rights and their violation, political prisoners in Turkey and the danger of Recep Tayyip Erdogan to NATO and all countries around Turkey“.
