In the second meeting of the two finalists of last year’s NBA Finals, the Celtics proved superior to the Warriors and, after a great game, clinched an important 121-118 victory in overtime.

The Celtics and Warriors each have one win each in their regular-season matchups this year. If they want to settle their differences now, they have to do it again in the NBA Finals, just like they did last year.

In a game with a playoff atmosphere, the Celtics pulled off a great 121-118 win in overtime, improving their record to 34-12, the best in the NBA, and leaving Golden State at 22-23 and 9th in the West fall. Golden State had a chance to send the game into a second overtime, but Jordan Poole’s three-pointer from center court in the Finals missed the target.

Jayson Tatum with 34 points (but 9/27 shooting) and 19 rebounds (a career high) led the way for the Celtics, with Al Horford valuable with 20 points and 10 rebounds, Marcus Smart adding 18 points and Jaylen Brown’s 16 points ( 6/18 shooting) and the 3-pointer who ended the game at 106-106 and sent the game into overtime.

With the Warriors, Steph Curry had 29 points (but only 9/25 shooting, 6/18 of those threes), Klay Thompson and Poole each had 24 points and Andrew Wiggins had 20 points, while Draymond Green added 11 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists.
