Budenholzer on Giannis’ return: “He still has to work on a few things”
Addressing Giannis Antetokounmpo and the fact that he has been out in the Bucks’ last 5 games, Mike Budenholzer explained that the “Greek Freak” is on the right track but still has work to do.
Giannis Antetokounmpo missed the Bucks’ 5th straight game, which the Cavaliers defeated 114-102. The concern is understandable, as Mike Budenholzer is reassuring when he has his say, but also reserved.
“There are still some things he needs to work on.” the Bucks coach first explained, adding: “I mean physically being where he wants to be. There’s a big difference between training and racing.”.
Budenholzer then explained: “I know I say it every day but we’re still optimistic and feel good about what we’ve accomplished in his career due to injury. So we will continue to see it day by day. It works properly.”
Finally, the Bucks coach emphasized: “Nowadays it is the player who will make the final decision. It depends on how he’s feeling and if he’s ready. That goes for all teams and I think everyone on our team is doing a great job.”
