An ankle injury and leaving the ground early in the Mavericks’ game against the Suns led to Luka Doncic being sidelined for the first time in his NBA career.

Luka Doncic sat out the Mavericks’ game against the Suns (a 99-95 Dallas win) after twisting his left ankle and leaving early in the game. This led to him also experiencing his first night of absence in the NBA.

The Slovenian finished the game with 0/2 shots and 1 rebound in 3 minutes of participation, setting a negative record in his attendance in the world’s top division. His worst performance to date was 2 points in a game against the Heat on December 14, 2019 when he left again after two minutes of action with an injury.

For the record, this was only the 6th game of Doncic’s NBA career in which he failed to score in double digits in a total of 309 games while being in double digits in 211 straight games.
