NBA, Milwaukee Bucks: Tyrik Evans wants to claim contract with ‘Deer’
Three years after being fired from the NBA, Tairik Evans is trying to come back and revive his career. The 32-year-old guard will begin training with the Milwaukee Bucks and hopes to land a contract for the remainder of the season.
It’s been three years since the NBA expelled Tyrik Evans for violating its anti-drug program, and the 32-year-old guard appears poised to return to the game stronger. The 2009 NBA Draft No. 4 hasn’t been played in three years, but the desire/ambition to return to the NBA and claim his dreams hasn’t left his mind.
For this reason, he will be integrated into the Milwaukee Bucks’ training in the coming days with the aim of convincing Mike Budenholzer of a contract for the rest of the season.
The Deer have had a vacancy on their roster for a while and are waiting to find something enticing on the market to fill their perimeter even more (Javon Carter was a step in that direction), so see Tairik’s case Evans pretty interesting.
Since they have the opportunity to test him in training, they can find out what shape he is in and, of course, whether he covers Mile Bundenholzer’s “wishes”. Overall, one would say it’s a very low-risk prospect for Milwaukee with nothing to lose at this stage.
Tyrik Evans traveled to Sacramento, New Orleans, Memphis and Indiana before being sentenced to three years in prison by the NBA for violating its anti-drug program. In his 11 years in the NBA, the 32-year-old guard has signed contracts that have grossed him $76,231,924 million, but it seems clear he can’t expect much more than the minimum right now.
The Bucks depth chart at the moment:

SF: Chris Middleton, Pat Conaton, DiAndre Bebri
PF: Giannis Antetokounbo, Thanasis Antetokounbo
