Giannis Antetokounmpo: “I want to take a break physically and mentally at All Star Weekend”
Giannis Antetokounmpo stressed that he is not worried about first place in the East and explained how he is managing his knees.
A win now separates the Boston Celtics from the Milwaukee Bucks in the east after the “Stags” won at the Fiserv Forum in the early hours of Feb. 15. Giannis Antetokounmpo doesn’t feel pressured or stressed from the discussion that’s started about how Milwaukee can climb to first place in the East.
The “Greek Freak” was asked about the event in the post-game press conference, as well as how he was dealing with his knees following the injury he sustained in the game against Boston.
What he said in detail:
for his injury: “Nothing (happened). I have to watch the video again. I think we bumped knee to knee. That’s all.”
About how much he cares about his knees: “I have dedicated my life to what I do. When I come home I have to balance fatherhood and career. But I have great support around me, from everyone. They allow me to do what I love and what I’m good at. I always take care of my body, I invest in myself. It’s the best investment you can make. I always try to have the best team around me to help my body because at the end of the day if I don’t take care of it, I won’t be able to perform well for my kids. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if I’m 30″ or 30″ on the ground (On the ground) for a minute. Either way, I’ll be fine. I always think he’s the way it got me here. i feel no pain I want to go out and enjoy the game.
In defense against the Boston Celtics: “Boston is a team that moves the ball a lot. It doesn’t matter who’s on the floor, they’re very disciplined overall as a team. We had to have that individual pride to be as ahead of the opposition as we can. That’s what makes us great. Of course we did it a little bit more when we fell behind in the fourth period and overtime. But we have to do it throughout the game. Then we’re at our best when we’re playing defensively, staying in front (in front of the opponent), making deflections and steals. I think when we play defensively we’re at our best. We were able to do that in the fourth quarter and in overtime.”
For Jrue Holiday: “Jrou is always there, he tries his best in defence. In attack he is always aggressive, he creates for himself and the team. He’s so good that he often gets the ball. He saved us from many similar situations. He won a lot of games for us with his defense. We need him to be so powerful and to set the tone on defence. For the whole crew will follow (him).”
For the fight for first place in the East: “We play well, that’s all I care about. If you ask me if I think we can play better defense, yes I do. Whether we finish the regular season in first or second place doesn’t matter “At the end of the day you have to prepare well because to win a title you have to play with great teams – no matter what – he has to be on the pitch won. No one will give it to you.” . You have to go out and win. So wherever we end up in the regular season, I don’t care. I’m all about building our good habits and playing the best basketball we can. That’s all.”
For the NBA All Star Weekend: “It’s the fourth year I’ve been there with a teammate. It’s really cool. It’s nice to be in the same dressing room, hanging out with your family and taking photos. I have a picture at my house for example I had one with Khris (Middleton) at the NBA All Star Weekend before. Now I will have one with Jrue (Holliday). You can’t take it for granted, you never know when you’re going to be in “That position again. Opportunity, I want to thank people for choosing me to be captain. We’re going to have a good time. The first six years that I’ve been to at NBA All Star Weekend, maybe I took it too seriously.” “I figured I had to go there and win because I’m playing with the best. The competitive side of me always came out. Now I’ll try to have a good time, take a break.” Physically and mentally because then we have to come back and play well before the NBA Playoffs, hopefully after the NBA All Star Weekend we’re healthy and we’ll play well.”
