Alert in Portland over injury to Anferni Simons
Hours after learning he was selected for the 2023 NBA All Star Weekend three-point contest, Anferni Simons left the Portland Trail Blazers game with a (serious?) ankle problem.
It had only been hours since Anferni Simons was informed he had been selected for the 2023 NBA All Star Weekend three-point contest when he saw his luck turn his back.
While attempting a floater in the third period against the Washington Wizards, the 23-year-old guard landed on Kyle Cusa’s leg and twisted his left ankle. The problem was so severe at the time that he had to remain on the ground for a few seconds until he could get up before exiting the game with the help of Portland medical staff.
That means attending NBA All Star Weekend 2023 is highly questionable (to the point of impossibility), but the biggest thing for Chauncey Billups isn’t that, it’s the time he’s being deprived of in the battle to get into the NBA game -in .
This season, Anferni Simons is averaging 21.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists while shooting 38.1% from three.
