Saturday of All Star Weekend usually has a fancy closure: the traditional Mathematical Competitionthe moment the spectacular flights take center stage to amaze everyone with the capacity and skill that usually captivates in the NBA.
The 2023 edition at the Vivint Arena promises very strong emotions, with four participants willing to give the best show to the fans.
How do they compete?
First round: Two companions per participant which will be evaluated by a jury of five people. The two best scores by adding both dunks will advance to the next phase. The order for each person’s second dunk will be determined inversely of their score on the first dunk (ie, whoever received the lowest score on the first dunk will be the one to open the second round).
final round: Two companions per participant, which will be evaluated by the same jury. The best cumulative score between the two partners will determine the winner.
Tiebreakers: In the first round, it will be decided by the jurywho will write on a card the name of the player who will advance according to his criteria. In the final round, there will be an extra dunk to break the tie. and, if a tie is maintained, it will be broken by decision of the jury, who will choose their winner by writing their name on a card.
Rules and considerations
Each of the five judges will rate the first round dunks on a scale of 6 to 10. That is, the minimum will be 30 and the maximum will be 50.
Each participant will have three attempts to complete each dunk. What is an “attempt”? When the player has control of the ball and moves it towards the hoop.
A referee will assess whether a dunk is considered complete or missed. Full dunks cannot be replaced, even if the player is left.
The use of props or other people for a dunk must be approved in advance by the NBA Basketball Operations Department.

Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo He gave a harsh response to the question about a possible trade to another NBA club:
“I’m here. Don’t ask me that question. It’s disrespectful to me and my teammates. I wear this jersey every day.
To say I don’t want to be here is disrespectful to the organization, the coaching staff, myself and everyone who worked hard to get me on the field. Don’t ask me this question. I am her. I’m going out in this uniform. And as long as I’m here, I’ll give it my all until the last second of the match.”
On the night of December 27-28, Antetokounmpo returned to the field after his calf muscle injury and became the most productive player of the game with the Chicago Bulls – 112:103.
