Headings

1. Team LeBron (@crabdribbles): Luka Doncic, Mavericks

Doncic has yet to have a good game in the All-Star Game, but we’re not here to talk about that. The Slovenian is putting together the best season of his career, leading the league in points while flirting with a triple-double every night. There is no answer for him offensively.

—Rafferty

2. Group John (@GMcGregor21): Jayson Tatum, Celtics

Giannis and Jayson Tatum have gone head-to-head enough, why not let them join forces on a stage like the All-Star? This season, the Celtics player is averaging 30.5 points per game, which, by the way, is the highest number in Celtics history. Tatum will fit in and open up the floor allowing Giannis to be Giannis.

3. Team LeBron: Nikola Jokic, Nuggets

Is the current MVP still available? Then the choice is easy. With LeBron, Doncic and Jokic on the same team, the ball will move.

—Rafferty

4. Team Giannis: Kyrie Irving, Mavericks

Opening the court is the key here. I prefer Kyrie’s 39.2% success rate. Scott isn’t going to decide to take the two available interiors, is he?

5. Team LeBron: Joel Embiid, 76ers

I see you and I had the same strategy in this one waiting for the other to take Jokic or Embiid, knowing that one of the two would likely be available in the end. I’m not going to let that happen! Yes, Jokic and Embiid on the same team is weird, but good luck stopping this team.

—Rafferty

6. Team John: Lauri Markkanen, Jazz

Before Scott goes crazy with his lineup, I’ll get the last big one available. Lauri Legend he is here to impress the home crowd and continue what he does every night at Vivint Arena.

7. Team LeBron: Donovan Mitchell, Cavaliers

No disrespect to Morant, who I can’t believe will be the last pick, I have to take my shots with LeBron, Jokic and Embiid as front court. It helps that Mitchell knows Utah hoops.

—Rafferty

8. Team Giannis: Ja Morant, Grizzlies

My strategy may have backfired, but I’m still motivated with my team as I can complete my lineup with Morant. The base will give good options to the rest and will leave beautifully best moments.

9. Team Giannis: Damian Lillard, Trail Blazers

Look at the clock, it is Give me time. Opening up the pitch is the mantra for Giannis’ team this year and we’ll have a three-pointer from the logo to prove it.

mcgregor

10. Team LeBron: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Thunder

Gilgeous-Alexander had a legitimate case to start this All-Star Game, all things considered. Team LeBron is now home to four of seven players averaging more than 30 points per game this season. Nothing bad!

—Rafferty

11. Team John: Bam Adebayo, Hit

I recognize that I need more size and Adebayo is by far the best big among the reserves. His combination of intelligence and physicality will allow him to make life difficult for Team LeBron’s rotation.

mcgregor

12. Team LeBron: Jaylen Brown, Celtics

Brown also had a legal case to start this year. The guard is having his best season and has proven to be one of the best on both ends in the entire league this season.

—Rafferty

13. Team John: De’Aaron Fox, Kings

Fox might be the fastest player in the league with the ball in his hands. With Antetokounmpo in charge of the offense and transition, this could be unstoppable.

mcgregor

14. Team LeBron: Paul George, Clippers

I have all the size I need in Jokic and Embiid, so I’m happy to continue adding forwards to my team.

—Rafferty

15. Team Giannis: Pascal Siakam, Raptors

We don’t talk enough about the fact that Siakam is averaging 25.2 points, 7.9 rebounds and 6.1 assists this season. This is a great choice for my external rotation.

16. Team LeBron: Anthony Edwards, Timberwolves

Edwards has already said he will. MVP. This could go incredibly well or horribly wrong, but it will be fun either way.

—Rafferty

17. Team Giannis: Tyrese Haliburton, Pacers

Halliburton is among the league leaders in assists. With many mouths feeding on the Giannis team, the point guard will make sure everyone gets their chance.

mcgregor

18. Team LeBron: Domantas Sabonis, Kings

Welcome to the group of adults! Like I said, the ball on Team LeBron will move.

19. Team Giannis: Jaren Jackson Jr., Grizzlies

If I’ve learned anything from watching Antetokounmpo at the All-Stars, it’s that he’s going to require intensity and defense. How about the favorite to win the Defensive Player of the Year award?

mcgregor

20. Team LeBron: DeMar DeRozan, Bulls

The Bulls have been disappointing so far, but DeRozan is averaging 25-5-5 and is once again tearing teams apart in clutch.

—Rafferty

21. Team Giannis: Jrue Holiday, Bucks

Let’s face it, we know Antetokounmpo will take Holiday with the first pick in the actual Draft. I’ll add it with my latest one choose. You’ve won a title together, let’s add an All-Star win to your resume as teammates.

mcgregor

22. Team LeBron: Julius Randle, Knicks

Not much else to choose from so this is the last player for my team.

—Rafferty
