NBA, the 5 things left of the night: Durand returned full but beaten
The Mavericks’ defense left Steph Curry absent last season, forcing the Warriors to their third straight loss. Leading the San Francisco team was Poly with 23 points, while Carrie had 21 and Thompson had 16.
The Appearance of the Night
Luka Doncic was without a doubt the player who turned heads in the early hours of the morning. He took the Mavericks by the hand, led them to victory against the Warriors and was magical with 41 points and 10 rebounds. The Slovenian has shown excellent condition lately, his hand has warmed up well and he knows very well how to hurt his opponents.
In the same work viewers
Once again, the Lakers failed to find their rhythm and lost fingers down to the Clippers in the Los Angeles “Derby.” The problems didn’t stop for the Lakers and that was 100% exploited by the Clippers, who won the game as hosts 132-111. LeBron once again fought alone, his teammates were limited to mediocrity and the Clippers celebrated a party from the second half.
Now the Clippers are up 34-31 this season and sit 8th in the West, while the Lakers sit in 9th with a 27-35 record. Leading the Clippers was Reggie Jackson, who caused a lot of damage with 36 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists, while Zubac had 19 points. For the Lakers, Westbrook provided significant help with the exception of LeBron with 17 points.
Kevin Durand: The Return
Kevin Durand’s return to the court from injury would be described as ‘bittersweet’. On an individual level, KD was comfortable against the Heat, had 31 points and showed he’s in good shape. Things aren’t looking too well at the team level, however, as the Nets (without Irving) lost to the Miami team 113-107, and it remains to be seen what their image will be like when Durand and Irving are on the floor together.
The best birthday present
Jason Tatum celebrated his 24th birthday in the best way. The Celtics goalscorer literally and figuratively had a birthday on the floor. He had a total of 37 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in Boston’s 120-107 win over Ja Morand Grizzlies, while 21 of the 37 points came in the closing stages when the ball burned and the Grizzlies continued to threaten.
