Knicks dream, they beat the Celtics in Boston after 2 overtimes with Quickli’s 38 points

The Knicks aren’t kidding. They are in a terrible situation and even the absence of their leading player (Jalen Brunson) couldn’t slow them down as New York defeated Boston 129-131 after two overtimes, showing their teeth at the Celtics. The Celts had a chance to win but Al Horford’s three went wide in the end.

This was the 9th straight win for the Knicks, who with a 39-27 record now openly threaten the fourth-placed Cavaliers (40-27). Immanuel Quickley – who replaced Brunson in the starting XI – led the winners on 5/12 3-points with 38 points (7 of them in 2nd overtime), with Julius Randle adding 31 points and ARJ Barrett adding 29 points.

With the Celtics, Jayson Tatum had 40 points (but 12/30 shooting) and 11 rebounds, Jaylen Brown had 29 points, and Al Horford had 20 points and 14 rebounds.
