New York Knicks forward Julius Randle was fined $ 50,000 by the NBA on Sunday for pushing Phoenix Sun striker Cam Johnson, came in contact with a referee who was trying to end an investigation and joined the fight.

Randle and Johnson were both caught with technical errors after coming into contact and exchanging insults in the third quarter of the Suns’ savage 115-114 victory over the Knicks on Friday night. A referee split the two, but Randle then hit the referee to push Johnson again, causing him to be sent off.

Johnson responded with an excellent performance and 38 points at the top of his career.

The Knicks seemed to be heading for an impressive victory on the road before Randle’s untimely outburst at the end of the third quarter sent him to the locker room. In contrast, New York lost a 14-point lead in the absence of Randle and lost for the seventh consecutive game.
