NBA, the 7 things we’re left with from the night: John may even be charged with a foul
Giannis Antitokoumbo’s ability, even when burdened with a foul, to offer the hot Tatum and Jokic who is in a class by himself. Sportish presents the 7 things that caught the eye in the NBA at dawn.
Nikola Jokic was in a class by himself at dawn, Giannis Antetokunbo found ways to do his job even when charged with a foul, Holidayi and Middleton helped him and Tatum single-handedly won Durand’s team.
the Sportish presents the 7 things that caught the eye in an 8-game night in the NBA.
The game of the evening
Recreating last year’s finals, the Bucks vs. Suns clash was the game that caught the eye at dawn Monday. Antitokunbo’s “stag” greeted the Phoenix team stripped of Booker-Paul services, and that was something Milwaukee took full advantage of. THELast year’s finalists played like real savages with great motivation until they bent over the details. The Bucks clinched the win (132-122) with Jru Holliday and Chris Middleton keeping them upright and upright Giannis Antetokounbo having three big moments at the most critical point of the game.
Despite the fouls that Giannis was accused of, speaking at critical points in the game, the Bucks clinched the win over the Suns and rose 40-25 (23-12 inside and 17-13 outside) and further with the aim of the best possible placement in the East region.
The Appearance of the Night
Jason Tatum made a splash at TD Garden against the Nets with a season-record 54 points (8/15 two points, 8/15 three points, 14/17 shots) took the Celtics by the hand and led them to a 126-120 victory over the Brooklyn team. He was the main threat to the nets’ defenses, but that didn’t bother him or stop him. The Celtics may have struggled against the Nets, but with Tatum in the lead, who has been doing well since his birthday (a few days ago).
John can even when charged with a foul
He might not have been the top scorer against the Suns, he might need valuable help from Middleton and Holiday while he was on the bench with a foul, but even so, Giannis Antitokoumbo’s contribution in the game was huge. He only had 19 points (relatively low performance for his data), but he spoke when the ball burned.
“I wasn’t trying to avoid fouls, I can’t allow easy nailing,” he said in the post-match press conference. That’s the Greek freak mentality and that comes down to the floor in every Bucks game. However, at dawn he proved that even on his mediocre night, when some things don’t go the way he planned, he can find a way to get what he wants.
Bogdanovic’s hand burned
Bojan Bogdanovic killed the Thunder from the periphery. It’s not uncommon (unless we’re talking about Steph Curry) to be attacked from afar like this. The Serb did, however, and with 11/18 threes he was the one who hurt Pokusevski’s team the most. You can’t just limit a player who has found rhythm from the periphery and that hurts Donner, making Bogdanovic the hero of the night.
Jokic is in a class of its own
Who can tell Nikola Jokic what? The Serb put in another great performance with a triple-double (46 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists) and saved the Nuggets’ night in overtime against the Pelicans. As if that wasn’t enough, Jokic became the only player in NBA history to record the best performance in stats since the season that counted steals and caps in the stat categories Triple-double (1973-74 season).
An awkward moment for Glenn Davis
The Celtics vs. Nets game at TD Garden had a distinguished guest from the past, a champion. Veteran NBA player and former Celtics player Glenn Davis was returning to the field where he played from 2007-2011 and won a championship (2008) and wanted to get an up-close look at the game against Brooklyn’s team. But he wanted to see them up close, from the courthouses.
He did what any fan would probably do when faced with open positions. He wanted to be transferred. Before he could sit in his new seats… he was picked up when they were already caught in an awkward moment that didn’t go unnoticed by the game’s commentators.
Irving and the girl who ate rejection
Kyrie Irving returned to Boston where he grew up playing the Celtics. His decision to leave the team for the Nets is something the Celtics’ friends may never get over. He found a peculiar and somewhat… ironic way of characterizing the Boston public, who disapproved of him.
In statements after the game, he didn’t hesitate to compare the fans who disapproved of him to “a girl who has been turned away and asks for explanations but is still waiting for a message”.
“I know it’s going to be like this every time in Boston until the end of my career. She’s like a girl who has been rejected and asks me to explain why I left her, but she’s still waiting for a message. These behaviors make it enjoyable and the truth is that “it’s been nice while it lasted and I’m grateful for what I went through here in Boston. I have relationships with everyone in the organization and we’re still in Contact. I respect them and I’m glad to be here. However, I’m trying not to start a dialogue with the fans.”
