The best 3-point shooters after a pass
#1 — Michael Porter Jr.
Michael Porter Jr.’s re-emergence after nearly a blank season came hand in hand with a recasting of his role. In this lesson, the promising forward has performed functions closer to those of a performer, rather than developing as a playmaker. His performance as an outside shooter draws a lot from the excellent level of play of Nikola Jokic, who assists him on 33% of his attempts at the basket.
Particularly brilliant is his long-range accuracy in his actions catch & shoot where he leads the NBA with his very high performance 43.8% on his 5.2 pitches.
#2 — Lauri Markkanen
Lauri Markkanen’s breakout to the Utah Jazz is one of the stories of this season. A player capable of dominating the paint and beyond the arc as the perfect archetype of the modern player.
The Finn is second in this ranking due to his volume (6.6 triples), higher than Hield’s, although both share the three-point success rate: 41.9%.
#3 — Buddy Hield
Hield is poised to become the first player not named Stephen Curry to lead the NBA in three-pointers, having played the Warriors star for an entire season. The Pacers guard has maintained the great chemistry he had with Tyrese Haliburton in Sacramento and is a real threat when he receives from beyond the arc.
At 6.2 chances at catch & shoot averaged per game, Hield hits it 41.9% from triple.
#4 — Keegan Murray
The number 4 pick of the last Draft has positively surprised in a sensational campaign for the Kings. After shooting 29.6% his freshman year at Iowa and 39.8% on 4.4 field goals his sophomore season, Keegan Murray has emerged as a consistent threat from distance.
With 5.6 3-pointers per night, the 22-year-old is averaging a very high percentage 41.1%. Finishing with these numbers would be the the best newcomer since there is a record (2014), surpassing Saddiq Bey in 2021 (40.2%).
#5 — Klay Thompson
To close the top 5, a classic on this list. Klay Thompson has regained his feel and his numbers are somewhat back to pre-injury standards. After averaging “just” 38.8% last season, he has hit the 40 mark this season.

The best three-point shooters on the dribble
#1 — Stephen Curry
Who else would be up here? Stephen Curry has had numerous injury issues that have limited him to 41 games, but that helps him reach the top of this particular ranking. The Warriors star is a real scoring machine when he combines dribbling, jump shooting and long range.
Steph attempts 6.1 dribble 3s per night (3rd highest on record) and converts the 47.6% of them, a very high and unparalleled accuracy. In fact, the distance between him and the second (7.3%) is the same as between him and the eleventh (Fred VanVleet, 33%).
#2 — Tyrese Haliburton
First of the mortals and second in rank is Tyrese Haliburton, who has made the most of the unusual throwing mechanics to make it a very dangerous weapon.
The new Pacers report links an incredible 40.3% of its triples from the dribble with 5.5 attempts per night.
#3 — Donovan Mitchell
Mitchell started the season at an intractable level in this category and, understandably, has been losing steam over the months. However, the Cavs captain has managed to maintain a pretty remarkable success rate in this type of action and is chasing Haliburton for second place.
Hand in hand with 5.7 triple dribbles per game, Mitchell scores 39.5% of these, reaching the efficiency threshold of 40%.
#4 – James Harden
Another who has been reborn in this campaign is James Harden who with his physical improvement managed to regain his Back off. The 76ers point guard has reinvigorated what was his most signature move with the Rockets to rank fourth among the most prolific off the dribble.
Harden is shooting 5.4 3-pointers from the dribble to connect a 38% of them, not bad, even though they don’t have the brightness of the past.
#5 — Kyrie Irving
Not far behind is Kyrie Irving, who closes out the top 5, and who in Dallas will be able to continue giving his free verse freely.
The 30-year-old is one of the most dangerous on the board, as reflected by his own 37.8% he hit on 4.7 attempts per game.
