NBA, Westbrook replied to a fan: ‘Don’t insult my name’
A dialogue with a fan in San Antonio and the game between the Spurs and the Lakers was opened by Russell Westbrook, who usually told those who punted his name not to offend him.
Russell Westbrook’s mediocre performances with the Lakers this year have prompted fans to play puns on the Lakers’ last name. At one point during the game against the Spurs in San Antonio, Westbrook approached the court seats and opened up a dialogue with a fan who said, “Don’t insult my name,” while continuing to address him with the mocking adjective.
After the game, Westbrook referenced this in the press conference, saying: “It’s not just about this season. Somewhere I forget about basketball when my name and surname are insulted. I personally forget when it comes to me, but it hit me hard when my wife went to our son’s school the other day. and the teacher said that Noah is very proud of his last name and writes it all over the place, bragging about it to the other kids and saying “I’m Westbrook”.
And then I thought, ‘There’s no way people could insult my name, my children’s name and my family’s name and make fun of it by saying Westbrick'”.
