Fears are being raised in the US that Lonzo Ball’s career could be over as the 25-year-old point guard will undergo a third operation on his left knee and also miss the 2023-24 season.

Lonzo Ball will be walking through the operating room door for the third time in the coming days. The Chicago Bulls point guard, 25, hasn’t stepped on the ground since January 2022, has been out this season anyway and is likely to miss all of next season, making his career now in question or whether he’ll end it early because of the problem with his left knee.

In five seasons in the NBA, Ball has averaged 11.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.6 steals per 32.5 minutes in 252 games. His contract with the Bulls expires in the summer of 2025, but if his injuries are deemed career-ending, the Chicago team will pay him, but without his money affecting their salary cap.
