OKLAHOMA CITY – The Quebecer Luguentz Dort season is over, the Oklahoma City Thunder announced on Tuesday.

Dort underwent surgery to repair a fracture in his left shoulder. According to the Thunder, he should be ready to return to training before the start of the 2022-23 season.

The Montreal North player has not stepped on the field since February 12 in Chicago, where he collected 31 points.

Dort was a key player in all 51 appearances this season. He had the same distinction last season, starting in his 52 games. During this campaign, he averaged 17.2 points per game and spent just over 32 minutes on the court, on average.

Dort has 139 NBA career games in three seasons, all with the Thunder.

OKC signed him after the 2019 draft. He was not selected at the Barclays Center, after shining with Arizona State.

The Thunder had a score of 20-44 before welcoming the Bucks on Tuesday.

Dort was the team’s top scorer in 17 games, including a four-game winning streak from late January to early February. He had 130 three-pointers, a Thunder height. In addition, his success rate in free throws increased from 74% to 84%, compared to the previous season. The team is led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of Ontario, who averages 24 points per game.
