NBA
Milwaukee – a dream come true in Utah just hours before Antetokounmpo’s titanic fight with Jokic
In an incredible situation, the Bucks defeated the Jazz 144-116 in Salt Lake City and travel to Denver for the big match against the Nikola Jokic Nuggets. Giannis Antetokounmpo only played 25 minutes (6/24/11), Chris Middleton was saved.
With two road games in the space of 24 hours, the Bucks were looking to earn a comfortable win early Saturday (March 25) in Salt Lake City and manage their strength ahead of their clash with the Nuggets in Denver. And they’ve accomplished both goals, going through the Jazz 144-116 to continue their momentum for the best record in the NBA, which will give them absolute home field advantage in the playoffs.
Elafia went up to 53-20 (30-7 home and 23-13 away) with Giannis Antetokounmpo doing an excellent job in the creation part and keeping his strength for the meeting with Nikola Jokic. Grayson Allen and Brook Lopez did incredible things early on, Holiday and Carter scored with efficiency, Ingles returned to Utah and became a god, Connaughton found his long-range shot, Middleton rested and Mike Budenholzer was happy to end the game.
The Jazz fell to 35-38 (22-15 home and 13-23 away) who were without Colin Sexton, Jordan Clarkson, Rudy Gay and Lauri Markkanen. The reality is the Mormons wanted to lose, they didn’t want to be in the play-in tournament, they don’t care about the playoffs, they care about getting as high as they can in the 2023 NBA draft to keep building the team of the Future. Simone Fontecchio and Kelly Olynyk were the only ones struggling.
Antetokounmpo’s account
He didn’t bother to score in the first third, had three rebounds, four assists and a steal in 8:45. As long as those around him have a rhythm, Giannis will help them maintain it, which is why he didn’t fire in the second period until the last two minutes when he made his first three. At halftime, he had 11 points on six shots, five rebounds and seven assists in 16:47.
In the second half, he used a lot more offensive gas, not to improve his stats but to maintain a good pace for the game against the Nuggets. He continued to do an incredible job, going to the bench early to see the fourth third and the rest of the game from there.

The race
After Allen scored the first 11 points and Lopez had three blocks, the Bucks built an incredible 0-11 lead after two minutes. They held it comfortably most of the time, going +17 (21-38) with Ingles doing a great job creating and executing and by the end of the twelve minutes they had amassed 40 points, made eight three-pointers and provided ten assists and six blocks for only two mistakes.
When Connaughton caught fire early in the second period, Milwaukee had a chance to pull even further. He just didn’t count on the motivation of Simone Fontecchio, who single-handedly kept Utah in the game. Still, the Bucks didn’t panic, despite Olynyk causing trouble as usual. And with Giannis stepping on the gas, they retained the double-digit lead, with 58-72 at half-time looking like enough for the result.
At the start of the second half, the Bucks ran a 12-23 run in five minutes, going to +25 (70-95) and not letting the home side believe in a miracle. They just did what they had to do, with the Jazz having an unacceptable transitional defense. And so the match was decided prematurely. The third third of 85-115 even gave the umpires a chance to joke around as James Williams picked up a pig and paced the floor. It’s different in the NBA.
The fourth quarter was procedural, Connaughton found another unreal time to make three threes again, Thanasis took his time and delivered an unlikely dunk and by the end of the night everyone in Salt Lake was happy, smiling and happy. Both the hosts and the guests.

San Antonio hosted Cleveland and suffered a sensational defeat.
Three-quarters of the meeting was fought evenly, with the teams responding to each other’s pushes with their own pushes and often staying within a shot or two of each other. That changed in the fourth quarter, as the Cavaliers went on a 15-2 run to take a 10-point lead, 94-84. They then maintained their advantage and won with a score of 113:101.
Cleveland’s main hero in this game was Allen, who had a double-double with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Garland can achieve the same success with 15 points and 11 assists.

The third quarter was tied, so Orlando still had a double-digit advantage ahead of the final: 94:84. At the beginning of the match the play followed the same scenario but in the middle Toronto made a move with 15:0 and not only won it back but also took the lead with 105:102. The fate of the game was decided by Barnes’ free throws, which set the score at 107:106 with 1 minute and 27 seconds left in the quarter.
Barnes could not make a triple-double this time, but he did a double-double and got 13 points and 11 rebounds, while the most productive name in the victory was Shead with 19 points.

ADETOKUMBO: “Disrespectful. Don’t ask me this question”
Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo He gave a harsh response to the question about a possible trade to another NBA club:
“I’m here. Don’t ask me that question. It’s disrespectful to me and my teammates. I wear this jersey every day.
To say I don’t want to be here is disrespectful to the organization, the coaching staff, myself and everyone who worked hard to get me on the field. Don’t ask me this question. I am her. I’m going out in this uniform. And as long as I’m here, I’ll give it my all until the last second of the match.”
On the night of December 27-28, Antetokounmpo returned to the field after his calf muscle injury and became the most productive player of the game with the Chicago Bulls – 112:103.
