Moneke: ‘Vezenkov will do well with kings if they’re honest about how they plan to use him’
Cima Moneke, who started the season in Sacramento and then found a basketball home in Monaco, expressed confidence in his ability to do well in the NBA and around the Kings.
Chima Moneke’s tenure with the Kings proved short and not the success the player would have wished for. However, after moving from the NBA, he found his place in Monaco, averaging 4.3 points and 3.8 rebounds in the EuroLeague. Speaking to Basket News, the Nigeria forward was asked to comment on Sasha Vezhenkov’s potential move to Sacramento after witnessing the situation from the inside.
“The situation is very, very important. Some people don’t fight on certain teams because they’re not good players, but because they’re in the wrong situation. It’s very important to play for a coach, to play in a team that believes in you and gives you the opportunity to play the way you want.
It depends on how Mike Brown (Kings coach) will use it. I love the way he fights because he doesn’t need the ball to affect the game. With everything he does in the EuroLeague, they will find a way to use him properly, I hope that for him. He’s an excellent player and will do well. If they tell the truth about how they intend to use it, then I will he’s fine.”
Let’s remember that people from the Sacramento Kings visited Greece three times in 98 days to see the Bulgarian forward from Olympiakos up close.
