DENVER – Playing their second game in two nights against Western powers, the Toronto Raptors shone again on Saturday, beating the Denver Nuggets 127-115.

Pascal Shiakam had 33 points, seven assists, five rebounds and two steals. The Cameroonian averages 27 points in six games.

Scotty Barnes gave a proud helping hand with 25 points, 10 assists, eight rebounds and two steals.

Montrealer wit Chris Boucher added 21 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks.

Precious Achiuwa went there with 15 points, including great long-distance damage (four to six for a three-point shot). Lately he has been playing with a lot of bites.

Thaddeus Young had nine points and three steals for the Raptors, who deserved their third straight win.

Fred VanVleet took a break the day after the victory in Phoenix. He recently lost five games with bruises on his right knee. Meanwhile, OG Anunoby lost a 10th consecutive game after a broken right finger. Malachi Flynn has been ruled out of action for the fourth time in a row with a hamstring injury.

The Raptors’ trip to five cities and six games will conclude with two meetings in Los Angeles on Monday and Wednesday (Lakers and Clippers).

Seventh in the East, the Raptors (37-30) came into a game with the Cavaliers who were in sixth place.

Nikola Jokic had 26 points for the Nuggets (40-28), whose next three games will be away.

In the West, the fight is tight for the 4th to 6th places between the Nuggets, Jazz and Mavericks.

Slow Curry, but not Klay Thompson

Despite just eight points from Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 122-109.

While Curry was limited to eight points and eight assists, teammate Clay Thompson shone for the Warriors with 38 points. Specifically, he made eight baskets from the city center in 14 attempts. Jordan Poole had 30 points to win.

Unsurprisingly, Giannis Antitokoumbo was the most productive for the Bucks with 31 points and eight rebounds. No other Bucks player reached the milestone of 20 points in defeat.
