Triple-double Antetokounmpo in Washington win, but also a new problem for Milwaukee heading into the playoffs
Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded the 35th triple-double of his career, Bobby Portis accomplished things and wonders and the Bucks passed Washington relatively easily (140-128) but they are struggling and another came along.
The 79th game of the regular season brought the Bucks to the US capital. The Wizards were without four of their five starters and a few more players, Milwaukee had their own troubles to cover, but Giannis Antetokounmpo was back to get the job done (140-128), this time with plenty of people following and supporting him .
The Elafias climbed to 57-22 (31-8 home and 26-14 away) for first place in the regular season and absolute home field advantage in the playoffs. Grayson Allen (sprain), Khris Middleton (handling), Jevon Carter (foot cut) were ruled out while Pat Connaughton twisted his ankle and left after just six minutes.
Still, Mike Budenholzer watched the Greek freak record his 35th career triple-double (11/28/10), Bobby Portis had a double-double in the first half and hit 20/20 that Jae Crowder – Brook Lopez to theirs to fill statistics and many in good condition.
After the Celtics lost in Philadelphia, the Bucks need either a win in their last three games or a loss in Boston to have the best record in the NBA.
The Wizards fell to 34-45 (18-21 home and 16-24 away), who lost the battle for the Play-In tournament anyway. Monte Morris, Delon Wright, Bradley Beal, Kyle Kuzma, Denny Avdija, Kristaps Porzingis didn’t play, Wes Anseld saw a competitive face in the first half but not much else. Kendrick Nunn recalled…Miami Heat’s Kendrick Nunn, Jay Huff, Johnny Davis, Daniel Gafford impressed with their willingness to fight and that’s the end of the positives the main players had to offer.
Antetokounmpo’s account
He came into the game with a balance of offense and creation, making three errors in the first period but having 8 points (2/3 2-pointers, 4/5 shots), 6 rebounds and 2 assists in 8:24. In the second twelve minutes his image was the same, at halftime he had 17 points (5/7 doubles and 7/10 shots) in 17 minutes, in the third third he did incredible ball distribution and converted two minutes before the final to win the one Finding the pass he needed for the triple-double. He gave up fairly later, after an incredible chasedown block, but overall his night was quiet. It has reached this level.

The race
With Connaughton-Crowder in Allen-Middleton’s positions, the Bucks didn’t have a good view early in the game. Holiday didn’t finish the stages near the basket, the Wizards were motivated, Giannis was more focused on creation and less on scoring, and the 29-32 of the third might have put some pressure on the Milwaukee team.
Budenholzer lost Connaughton early with a sprain, the home team pressured his team, but Portis and Matthews made the perimeter shots (7/7 3-pointers at halftime) and Milwaukee was unthreatened. Both Giannis and Holliday were on track for a triple-double and the 14/22 shots the Deers had from perimeter in the first half (62-75) did their job and more.
Things got even easier in the third period, thanks first to Crowder’s long-range shots and then to Antetokounmpo’s unchallenged creations. The difference exceeded 20, it remained at 17 after 12 minutes, but the truth was that everyone was resigned to the result. Budenholzer kept Giannis grounded early in the fourth, willy-nilly, but the Wizards were in no mood to give up the game.
The hosts reduced by 12 (104-116) but that’s about it. Antetokounmpo made an incredible block, gave right after the 10th assist and the Bucks easily took the result, giving them even more courage in the face of the playoffs.

ADETOKUMBO: “Disrespectful. Don’t ask me this question”
Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo He gave a harsh response to the question about a possible trade to another NBA club:
“I’m here. Don’t ask me that question. It’s disrespectful to me and my teammates. I wear this jersey every day.
To say I don’t want to be here is disrespectful to the organization, the coaching staff, myself and everyone who worked hard to get me on the field. Don’t ask me this question. I am her. I’m going out in this uniform. And as long as I’m here, I’ll give it my all until the last second of the match.”
On the night of December 27-28, Antetokounmpo returned to the field after his calf muscle injury and became the most productive player of the game with the Chicago Bulls – 112:103.
