It was four months before his injury after Nikola Jokic’s shot, but Markif Morris returned to action and played 17 minutes in Wolves’ defeat against the Heat.

It was November 8, 2021 when Nikola Jokic was annoyed by an unnecessarily harsh foul by Markif Morris and sent him down from behind. However, what appeared to be just a (tough) phase like any other was putting the heat forward out of action for 4 months as this phase cost him a neck injury.

But the wait is over for Morris. A little over 4 months later, 124 days to be exact, the dynamic forward hit the floor in the Heat’s loss to Wolves (104-113) with 6 points and 4 rebounds in 17 minutes of participation.

I felt great. It was a big process.” Morris said after the game, adding: ““I’m grateful to be back playing the game I love.”

It is recalled that Jokic’s fight with Morris…had several episodes after what happened on the floor. The reason for this was the Heat forward’s twin brother, Clippers’ Marcus Morris, attacked the Serb via Twitter, leading to Jokic’s brothers creating a Twitter account to defend their brother – and… the Morris brothers to threaten. Eventually, luckily, the situation never got better, while Jokic was then penalized with a penalty match for hitting Morris.
