The 1951 title
The Kings are America’s most famous sports franchise, dating back to 1923 in Rochester. Which led them to compete in the major professional leagues until landing in the current NBA.
In their third season in the competition they established themselves as champions with a team led by Arnie Risen and Bob Davies, a legacy of their glorious NBL past.
The Robertson era
Although they never won with Oscar Robertson at the helm, the then-Royals reached their peak with the point guard leading the way. In a period when the Celtics and 76ers dominated the East (Rochester is in New York) they were shut out by them in 5 of the 8 series in which they met.
The Kings’ dream with Adelman
The Kings’ last great era, the only bright one since they moved from Kansas City to Sacramento, happened at the dawn of the new millennium.
With Rick Adelman as the ideologue of the system, the franchise was close to fighting for the ring thanks to the connection between Chris Webber, Peja Stojakovic or Vlade Divac.
