Kevin Durand: ‘It’s ridiculous what’s happening to Kairi Irving’
Kyrie Irving has the right to enter the Barclays Center, but not…to play in it. A situation sharply commented on by Kevin Durand.
In the game with the New York Knicks, an absurd theater unfolded. Kyrie Irving walked into the Barclays Center, sat next to the Brooklyn Nets bench, allegedly walked the aisles and locker rooms of the stadium, but had no right to… step on the floor.
Current law in New York does not allow the Brooklyn Nets guard to play games in the city because he is unvaccinated, but at the same time allows him to enter any stadium. Like those of his team.
After the match with the New York Knicks, Kevin Durand spoke out about the situation and blamed New York Mayor Eric Adams.
“It is ridiculous. I don’t get it at all. I can not understand. I feel like someone is trying to show they have power right now. Everyone here is waiting for attention. I have a feeling the mayor wants to do that now. It needs a little attention. He will understand soon. Better. None of this makes any sense. There were unvaccinated people in the stadium. We have a man who can come onto the field. They’re afraid for our safety. I do not understand. We’re all confused. Everyone is more or less confused at the moment. At the beginning of the season, people didn’t understand what happened, but now it looks stupid. Eric (ss: Eric Adams, the mayor), I hope you understand“Kevin Durant made a characteristic statement at the press conference.
