Rookie Scotty Barnes had 15 points in the first 10 minutes as the Toronto Raptors won 114-103 against the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday.

The Torotonians were ahead by 24 points at one point, as the Lakers lost for the second consecutive night.

Gary Trenf Jr. had 28 points and Pascal Shiakam added 27 for the Raptors, who have four straight wins, all away from home.

Returning to the game after last Saturday’s dismissal against Denver, Fred VanVlit had 11 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.

LeBron James finished the game with 30 points and nine rebounds for Los Angeles, which has lost four of its last five games, including a 140-111 loss to Phoenix on Sunday.

A questionable case before the meeting, “King James” was finally used for 40 minutes by coach Frank Vogel.

Montreal’s Chris Boutcher scored 13 points for Toronto, which will stay in Los Angeles to face the Clippers on Wednesday night.
