Draymond Green: “We don’t care where we finish, we will win the championship”
Dreymond Green stepped back on the floor after two months in the Warriors’ win over the Wizards and said after the match that at Golden State they’re not worried about the position they’ll win in the regular season because they will , if they are healthy win the championship.
Draymond Green was never lacking in confidence. This was demonstrated in his first appearance after a two-month absence due to a calf injury in the Warriors’ win over the Wizards (126-112). Less with what he did on the floor (6 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists) but with what he said after the game.
The dynamic forward was asked after the game how the Warriors felt about chasing second place in the West with the Grizzlies. And his answer left no doubt as to what he intended to do.
“Of course second place would be great, but we’re not chasing it. We want to make sure we get into the playoffs healthy.” Green initially said, adding: “We’re not going to make any crazy decisions to chase 2nd or 3rd place. No matter what position we finish in, we will win the championship. I’ve been saying that for months.”
