Carl-Anthony Towns scored 60 points on the day he marked his life
Two years after his mother and father were rushed to a New Jersey hospital, Carl-Anthony Towns had to carry the Timberwolves to San Antonio. And he did with 60 points and an NBA career record.
Career record 60 points. 12/20 two points, 7/11 three points, 15/16 shots, 17 rebounds, three assists, one steal, 32 points in the third period, away win over the San Antonio Spurs. That was the report from Carl-Anthony Towns in the early hours of Tuesday (15/3), a day the Timberwolves Center will never forget. And how to forget them when March 14th will always be a bad date for him and his family…
“Yesterday marked two years since my parents entered JFK Medical Center with coronavirus. In the same hospital where my mother gave birth to me, in the same hospital I saw her begin to lose the fight to live. Two years later, I walked into the AT&T Center with the greatest guardian angel I could ask for and scored 60 points against the most accomplished coach in NBA history. Why am I saying this? Explaining that whatever obstacles life throws at you, you can come out stronger. Difficulties don’t stand the test of time, but strong people do. Mama i miss you. This game, my whole life, is dedicated to youTowns wrote on his Twitter account.
The Timberwolves center mother died a month after being rushed to hospital. She breathed her last on April 13, 2020 after being in a coma for weeks.
