Antetokounmpo goes under and Miami breaks up Milwaukee with the unstoppable Jimmy Butler

Giannis Antetokounmpo was injured at center and left, the Bucks lacked rhythm after a week without a game and the Heat took the opportunity to break the playoff first-round streak (130-117). Miami lost Tyler Hero to a broken hand.

The debut in the 2023 NBA playoffs didn’t go as the Bucks and the Heat expected. The Milwaukee team lost Giannis Antetokounmpo early on after a bad fall to the ground that injured his lower back, the Miami team saw Tyler Hiro leave with a broken hand but they broke the streak in the first round (130-117 ) with a shot -up Jimmy Butler and hid her stress ahead of the regular season finale and play-in tournament for now.

The Stags know how to turn around a streak, they’ve done that on multiple occasions, everyone expected Milwaukee wouldn’t be on a good rhythm after seven days without a game, but no one could have predicted what happened to Giannis. Khris Middleton did a great scoring job, Bobby Portis did the same, Jrue Holiday was incredibly creative but not in execution and on top of that Mike Budenholzer can’t hold on to a really bad night.

Erik Spoelstra, on the other hand, must find a way to fill the void left by Hiro, a 20-point-a-game player. He knows this will be difficult, but as long as Jimmy Butler plays motivated, the Heat has a good chance of ending the excitement in the series. Bam Adebayo and Kevin Love were the two to back the Miami team’s leader, with their manager hoping someone would step up for Hiro’s place.

46-62 racquet points, 6-14 surprise points, 40-38 substitute points, 20-19 opponent errors, 12-5 second chance points. Oladipo, Zeller, Yurtseven, Highsmith didn’t play for the Heat and Dragic, Connaughton, Beauchamp, Thanasis, Leonard didn’t play for the Bucks.

Antetokounmpo’s account

He went into the match patiently, being charged with his first foul trying to pull a heat forward, being charged with his second for a head-on attack on Kevin Love and somewhere in between having a nasty fall to the ground that injured his groin return. He temporarily went to the dressing room, turned to grit his teeth, couldn’t help himself and left the game with just 10:50 under his belt forever. During that time, he scored 6 points (2/4 2-pointers, 2/4 field goals), collected three rebounds and committed one foul.

The race

The Bucks didn’t have great pace early on, but their defense, especially against the slugger, was effective. 7-11 in 5′ was expected, 12-24 in 8′ not so much, Antetokounmpo’s injury in the middle and his exit to the dressing room after the second foul put the home side under pressure and in general everything seemed… out of tune . 24-33 over that period was the result of all 8 points the Heat scored in surprise, with Butler having 14 on 6/8 2-pointers and 2/3 shooting.

A burst from the Bucks helped them close the gap early in the second period (42-43), but Giannis’ final elimination from the match, the cynicism of the Heat taking advantage of every opportunity, and effective Butler kept the Heat ahead and even at halftime (55-68).

Without Hiro, the Heat knew things were going to be tougher in the second half. Still, they didn’t panic, played their game and stayed in the driver’s role with a double-digit difference until Middleton took the team on his back and followed Holliday-Portis to watch another Derby. The Bucks knew Miami was tired, but try as they might, it was impossible to get back into the game in a way that would bow their opponents. And the more Love found a local target, the better the night’s team stood out.

Middleton was determined to push his limits, but the night was “broken” early for the Bucks. Butler knew this opportunity was not to be missed as he continued to lead the heat and with 102-115 and 5:21 in the final no one believed this game could be turned on its head. And of course he didn’t come back.

ADETOKUMBO: “Disrespectful. Don’t ask me this question”

Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo He gave a harsh response to the question about a possible trade to another NBA club:

“I’m here. Don’t ask me that question. It’s disrespectful to me and my teammates. I wear this jersey every day.

To say I don’t want to be here is disrespectful to the organization, the coaching staff, myself and everyone who worked hard to get me on the field. Don’t ask me this question. I am her. I’m going out in this uniform. And as long as I’m here, I’ll give it my all until the last second of the match.”

On the night of December 27-28, Antetokounmpo returned to the field after his calf muscle injury and became the most productive player of the game with the Chicago Bulls – 112:103.
