ORLAND, Florida. – Kyrie Irving scored 41 points in the first half for the Brooklyn Nets, most in the first two ten minutes of Kobe Bryant in 2003.

In 23 minutes, Irving made 14 of 19 two-point shots, six of the seven three-pointers went off the ropes and was perfect in seven free-kick appearances.

The Nets built an 86-56 lead over the Orlando Magic at halftime, the most productive first half in Nets history.

It’s the first-half record since Bryant scored 42 points against the Washington Wizards on March 28, 2003. The future Hall of Famer finished the game with 55 points.

Wilt Chamberlain also scored a total of 41 points after the first two ten minutes of his game with 100 points, an NBA record.

Irving can only participate in matches abroad as he has not been vaccinated against COVID-19 and is required to play in New York.
