Andrew Wiggins: ‘My dad told me he loved Greece’
Mitchell Wiggins made history on Greek courts and his son and Warriors player Andrew Wiggins spoke to Cosmote TV about his father, his love of basketball and Giannis Antitokoumbo.
Andrew Wiggins, Warriors player and son of Mitchell Wiggins, who has spent time in Greek stadiums playing with Milonas, Panionios and Sporting, gave an interview to Cosmote TV where he talked about his father and his trip to Europe and Greece, but also talked about Giannis Antetokounbo who is a very difficult opponent.
He also mentioned the season with the Warriors and the goals the team has always set high.
For his father: “He’s a wonderful father. He loves basketball, he’s a fan of the sport. He watches games every day no matter what teams are playing. He was in the NBA for a short time while also playing in Europe.
I heard several stories with my father. People come up to me and tell me some of them. From what I heard it was great in Europe. He told me he loved Greece. I was a year old at the time and don’t remember much.
My mother was a very good athlete. He had taken part in the Olympic Games where he won two silver medals and holds the record in the state of Florida. “Having these two parents makes me feel blessed.”
For Giannis Antetokounbo: “Giannis is definitely one of the most difficult opponents. He was named MVP for a number of reasons. John is a special player with rare talent. He is unique and dominant in his game.”
The Warriors Empire is back this season; “Yes, that’s our goal. We have the pieces to make it happen. That is our main goal improve and conquer the unique our goal is the championship”.
How does it feel playing alongside Clay Thompson’s Steam Curry and Draymond Green:
“It is wonderful. You can learn a lot from each player. They are now legends and future Hall of Famers. to be on the same team to learn alongside them and improve my game seeing what they do is important to me. I learn next to them every day”.
