Steve Kerr hats off to Giannis Antetokounmpo: ‘He’s so right’

A day before Game 7 against the Sacramento Kings, Steve Kerr was asked about his successes and failures. It was the right occasion to worship Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s rants after he was banned from the Miami Heat went viral (rightfully so). The “Greek Freak” was clear and unequivocal about the success and failure part that affects those involved in sport.

Two days after these tirades, Steve Kerr was asked for his perspective and assessment of the so-called “Greek Freak”. The Golden State Warriors coach took his hat off to Giannis Antetokounmpo not only for his take on the matter but also for his overall presence and character.

Its placement in detail:

My reaction was how lucky we are to have Giannis in the league. To be an unmistakable star of the league, not only because of his talent but also because of his humanity and opinion. He’s so right!

Are there really 29 failures in the league every year? That can not be. These kids work so hard and give so much. When you hear words like shame… Why would anyone be ashamed of losing a game in the playoffs?

John is right! Once you’ve put in that much effort, we all recognize that you’ve done it. This is what sport looks like at the highest level.

These are the best players in the world competing against each other. Someone will win and someone will lose. So I feel like we’re very fortunate to have someone like Giannis (Antetokounmpo) running the league and speaking to people and presenting a perspective on things. It is very difficult for these players to be in the spotlight and to be criticized.

I turned on ESPN this morning and saw a report that JB Bickerstaff’s job is safe. And then I thought “really now?”. This man turned the franchise around if you think about where Cleveland was two years ago.

JB is one of the top coaches in the league. He did a great job!

When you read something like this, it’s a little confusing. But in this world we live in, we all know what we signed up for. So it’s important when you have representatives from the league like Giannis trying to explain to everyone what makes sense“.
