Miller’s Powers and Forces
Elite natural tools. Miller has excellent physical and technical conditions, combining the ideal height for the forward position with qualities ideal for this role: good handling, speed and perimeter shooting.
deadly sniper. His letter of introduction is the three shot. He shot 38% in his only NCAA year, with 7.5 attempts per game. He has great range on his shot, can shoot over opponents with no problem thanks to his size and is more than capable of scoring on the move. He also shot over 85% on free throws. Miller is a pure shooter.
Height, shooting and creation. Capable of creating with the ball in hand and very used to playing that role. 47% of his holdings in Alabama came in individually created stock. He performed exceptionally well as a pick and roll player (43% accuracy vs. 37% average for his position).
High defensive capabilities. He has everything to be a great NBA defender and has been at the NCAA level. He barely allowed 31% from the field in one-on-one defensive situations. He is an excellent defensive rebounder and has put up a very good number of blocks for his position (almost one per game).
Miller’s faults and weaknesses
Physics and definition. He needs to get physical, and while he got to the rim quite often (not his specialty), he had significant trouble finishing consistently, even at the NCAA level: he shot just 42% from the field on penetration (48% is average for the other projects that play small forwards).
Barely average pin. Miller is a decent passer, but by no means a specialist. Just 2.5 assists per 40 minutes, for a player who possessed the ball for much of Alabama’s offense. In the bottom third among players at his position in assists vs. shots at the rim and assists per one-on-one possession.
Miller in a play
